Somewhere in Time presents

Amor Aeternus

In the 1920s American South, and isolated community worships a river spirit that grants its devotees immortality if they can prove the purity of their hearts. Amor Aeternus follows Agnes and Peter, a young couple on their wedding day who must confront festering rumors about their relationship before entering an immortal marriage. As the couple communicates via letter, telephone, and a Priest intermediary, they seek lies and learn truths that challenge their conceptions of eternal love. A staged reading of this play was first presented as part of the 1,001 Plays International Play Exchange program at George Mason University, in Spring 2023.
