Uncle Alfie’s Diary follows siblings Daniel and Sasha as they break into their late uncle’s house to look for the inheritance he promised them. Instead of cash, they find his diary, which is filled with stories of intrigue, betrayal, motorcycles, and pizza. Brief and bonkers, this whirlwind comedy leaves its characters questioning: How well do you really know your family?

Playwright
Cara Hadden is an award-winning writer and aspiring playwright native to the Fredericksburg area. A recent graduate of George Mason University where she studied English and Theatre, five of Cara’s short plays were produced at Mason or affiliate institutions, such as SPARC in Richmond and Santa Caterina Federal University in Brazil. She has also worked as a dramaturg on multiple projects, including the Mason Players’ Originals, 1,001 Plays International Play Exchange, and Beautiful Indifference by April Brassard, which was presented at the 2024 DC Fringe Festival. As a storyteller, Cara seeks to explore narratives that ask questions regarding interpersonal relationships, social commentary (especially feminist rhetoric), and multifaceted ways of being human.
